When the time came to make a decision on where to go for spring break, most people had split ideas this year.
The hardest part of making spring break plans seem to be deciding whether to go to the beach, skiing, going with friends, or going with family. This year the final plans amongst college people seem to be very diverse.
When Marie Elise Williams of Jackson, Miss described her plans, she had a much different approach to spring break than most people. Marie Elise will be flying to Paris, France to experience Europe in a new way.
This semester she has been taking an American literature class that allows her to go to Paris for spring break. Even though it is spring break, the class will meet and have projects due in Paris.
“I chose to take this class and learn about American literature in a completely new way. Even though my spring break will consist of class times and projects, this will be an experience I will always remember.”
Most people do not choose to ruin their spring break with schoolwork, so this year Laura Barrier will venture to Nassau, Bahamas for a week of relaxation and fun.
Laura decided on the Bahamas after experiencing Destin, Fl last year for spring break. Laura is travelling with a large group of friends and is staying in an all-inclusive resort next to Atlantis.
“I have never been to the Bahamas and thought this would be the perfect year and perfect place to go for spring break. I would never consider skiing especially after all this snowy weather we have had in Oxford.”
Spring break plans differ for everyone. Whether they choose the beach, the mountains, or simply a week at a home, spring break will be a great time off for everyone.
